I have been living in Kenya for over 15 years. My story here began in Msambweni, where my husband and I built a business around moringa, working closely with local communities.
After his passing in 2017, I left Kenya for some time to step back and reflect. But I soon realised that this country, its people, and everything we had built were still a part of me.
So I came back in 2020.
When I settled in Diani, I faced a new challenge. I was looking for restaurants that reflected the level of quality and care I believe every guest deserves.
At times, I felt misunderstood. I remember asking for oysters to be served on a bed of ice, simply to ensure freshness and avoid any risk. I was told, “This is not Paris, this is not the Côte d’Azur.” But for me, it was never about comparison. It was about care. About doing things properly.
I believe people should always have a choice.
La Terrasse was born from that idea.
A place where you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Where service is thoughtful, where details matter, and where the food is honest, refined, and made with care. Inspired by French tradition, but deeply rooted in Africa.
We are not trying to be like others. We are not here to compete.
We simply try to do things right.
